Air Pollution

Types of Air Pollution Air pollution can be categorized into three categories
1. Natural Air Pollution,
2. Man- made or Anthropogenic Air Pollution
3. Indoor Pollution

Natural Air Pollution:
Natural Air Pollution caused by Natural Activities such as volcanic eruptions, Forest Fire etc. Some other natural pollutants are organic compounds from plants, sea salt, suspended soils and dust, Ozone. Ozone is one of the most common natural air pollutants in nature at the global level.

Man-Made Air Pollution:
Man-made or Anthropogenic Air Pollution caused by Human Activities such as Industrialization, Urbanization, Transportation etc. Sulphur dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Benzopyrene, Soot, Oxides of Nitrogen, Lead, Ammonia are important air pollutants released from human activities.

Indoor Air Pollution:
Many people think that air pollution only consists of smog or car emissions. While these do constitute as outdoor air pollution, there is a much more dangerous kind of air pollution known as indoor air pollution.

Indoor air pollution is more hazardous than outdoor air pollution because it is a more concentrated type of pollution that is caused by inadequate ventilation, toxic products, humidity, and high temperatures. Thankfully, numerous plants clean the air.

What Causes Air Pollution?
Air pollution refers to the contamination of our air with harmful gases and particulates. Globally, 9 out of 10 people breathe polluted air but many people are unaware of the potential health and environmental impacts of poor air quality.

Here’s what you need to know. Air pollution is caused when harmful gases and chemicals are released into the air. These pollutants include Particulate Matter (very small particles that get into our respiratory system), nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide.  The majority of these pollutants are emitted through human activities like burning  fossil fuel, vehicle exhaust fumes and emissions from agriculture and industry.
1. Sulphur Dioxide
2. Carbon monoxide
3. Benzopyrene
4. Soot
5. Oxides of Nitrogen
6. Lead
7. Ammonia
Soot is released from unburned fuel and benzopyran released from cigarette smoke

Effects of Air Pollution

Greenhouse effect:
Heavy industrialization and transportation are responsible for the greenhouse effect. When CO2 concentration increased it absorb heat radiation and thus increases the temperature of the environment. This process is called a Greenhouse effect. This process increases the temperature at a global level so it is also known as global warming.

Crop losses:
Smoke is caused by air pollution. This is move causes heavy loss of crop. Smoke damage leafy vegetables serials textile crops or ornamental plants fruits and forest trees in the nature. Deterioration of buildings: Sulphur dioxide has adverse effect on sculptures buildings and the painted surfaces. Sulphur dioxide is also causes the discoloration and deterioration of buildings sculptures and painted surfaces. Divide a Taj Mahal becoming yellowing and blackening due to Sulphur dioxide.

Respiratory disorders:
There are so many adverse effects on respiratory system of organisms. Premature science any sense and obsession is promoted by excessive ethylene in plants. Nasal and respiratory tracts get affected by aldehydes

Prevention of Air Pollution
Air pollution is not a problem of any one country, this is a global problem. to reduce air pollution, There are some 8 million people living on our beautiful planet, its up to each and everyone of us to leave our planet in a greener pollution free environment, for future generations.

We have to adopt all those techniques and equipment, which are helpful in the control of air pollution. These are some very important practices, which should be adopted by each and every country of the earth.

1. We have to reduce the emission of exhaust from automobiles
2. Smoke and dust should be reduced by electrostatic precipitation
3. We have two separate many gases like Ammonia sulphur dioxide with the help of scrubber.
4. All the vehicles should be based on compressed natural gas (CNG)
